Brostrom repair begins with a small incision made at the fibula’s distal tip and in-line with the ATFL (anterior talofibular ligament). The remaining ATFL is released and a rongour is utilized on the distal fibula to prepare the attachment site of the ATFL. Recovery involves crutches, followed by walking boot and extensive physical therapy.
